Upgrading Pedestrian Crossings

The Challenge

Many crossings across Scotland were designed and constructed decades ago. The subject of inclusive design has moved forward in that time. Boyd Brothers and Inverclyde Council did something about that…

The Solution

Inverclyde Council redesigned 29 pedestrian crossings to ensure that they were designed for the most vulnerable. Each site was different but changes included: new surfaces, flush kerbs, altered gradients, new push buttons, and more.

The Result

We created a more inclusive environment for people with additional needs and a safer environment for everyone.
